Welcome to my sketchbook...
in the last years I worked on several games and projects and hardly had time to finish personal artwork. More and more stuff never made it bejond a draft or an initial color rough and became hidden in the drawers or ended up filing harddrive space.
I started the sketchbook website because I like to show, not only perfectly rendered finished artwork, but also the the crab sketches and doodles from my sketchbooks and give a insight view from my studio.

I also like to share some of my studio secrets with you, show the tools I like, share some brush tips and stuff like that.

W.I.P Savage Queen - Part 2
Sketch revisited
joerg warda sketchbook warda art.com female amazon warrior queen with four wild lions sketch

After a few days I revisited the initial sketch and instantly noticed that I have to redraw the lion heads and give them more character and expression. The second issue was the empty space below her left leg, to close the gap I raised the lion below to fill the area. Now the space between the two left lions looks to flat and I have to figure out how to balance the composition.

W.I.P Savage Queen - Part1
new work in progress project
joerg warda savage queen amazon warrior girl with lions sketch

Looking at the date of my last post it seems that it was indeed a realy long weekend , but in fact there wasn't much time to be lazy, I been busy working on games in the last couple of month and had not much time left for personal work.

Based on the suggestion of a Facebook fan I started this work in progess project. The suggested theme was a wild amazon warrior queen and her four little lion pets. After watching a lot of lion photos to get a feel for the anatomy I done this first inital sketch in Photoshop with a Wacom Intuos tablet.

The Shy and the Spy
gues which is which,,,
the nerd with the golden gun sketchbook illustration by joerg warda

Last week I noticed that nerds are the most overlooked heroes in illustration and I gues it's time to put them to the limelight. I was listening to some Bond soundtracks during the sketch and maybe "The Nerd with the Golen Gun" might also be a nice title. Prismacolor pencils on copy paper.

There and back again
Sketches from the end of the world
jungle queen and tiger sketch moleskine watercolour prismaclor joerg warda

After a year of work I enjoyed a few weeks off to discover the world. I didn't made it exactly to the end of the world but in some places it felt quitelike it.
Had not much time to do a lot of sketching because the schedule to see all the spectacular places was tight. The ancient temple ruins and the jungle inspired me to do more fantasy kind stuff.
Moleskine Watercolour Album with orange and purple Prismacolor COL-ERASE pencils.

Spy Girl
spys are always fun to draw
sketch female spy spy girl sketchbook joerg warda
Allways loved the character of Emma Peel in the Avengers maybe that's the reason why I like to draw female spys and James Bond like stuff. The white highlights are painted in Photoshop with a chalk brush.

I needed a nice sketch for the website header
sketch sexy girl gloves sketchbook joerg warda
I drawn this to have a sketch that fits into the headline of the website but the sketch looks quite nice and maybe it has some potential to become a full colored painting.

Sexy latex dress
I think this one needs color...

sketch girl in latex dress sketchbook joerg warda
Looks cool - but something is missing - maybe it would look better with some color. The zipper on the back ads a nice expressive line and supports the pose but the dress is lacking some aditional finesse.
